Episode 1: Jennifer Yip // Lunch Money
Decelerator with Rob Kenedi Episode 1: Jennifer Yip of Lunch Money.
Here we go! And what a way to start. We start with the hot AI news, I misuse the technology, then we get into it with my first guest, Jennifer Yip, founder of Lunch Money, a personal financial manager that replaces Mint, which shut down January 1, 2024.
An impressive founder who started her career in earnest at Twitter / X and decided to solopreneur it to solve her own financial management challenges. She's been very open about her decision making, her journey, and even her tech stack. And, Jen has leaned on community and this openness as her customer acquisition strategy, and it seems to be working.
Her big dilemma as Lunch Money became more successful... Does she hire in order to grow and add additional stress and head count, or does she stay a solopreneur? Only one way to know...
Behind the Scenes
I recorded the BetaKit podcast with Douglas and we had a good chat about the "why" behind the show (and, so as to stay on brand, monopolies). Give it a listen too!
